This is Ammo, the Roux pup that is setting field trail
records. Bill is still on the road heading toward the
Metro Field Trial at the end of October 2009 to wrap up Ammo's
derby career. Just how many points will she have?
What are others saying about Louisiana Roux Puppies?
Bailey is an outstanding dog which I
would attribute this to her exceptional pedigree. She is from
the Roux and Phoebe (Chris Pleiman in SLC, Utah) 3/1/08 litter.
Bailey is very intelligent with great drive which makes her
training a breeze. Her favorite thing in this world is the love
of water. Seen in the picture is Bailey competing in dock
diving. She is doing great! Last week she received her first
sponsor (Ezy Dog).
Here is one of her last competitions in CO

Preacher is a dream to work with. He
is very much a team player and really wants to please. He is
very intelligent and catches on very quickly; to the point that
you can almost see the wheels turning inside his head. He is
very excitable and has lots of energy but as soon as the lead
goes around his neck he is able to flip the switch and he is all
business. He is very obedient, quiet and statuesque at the line;
the only thing that moves is his head. Everyone that sees him
loves his build and color (especially his head). I’ve never had
a dog like him before and I’d encourage anyone looking for a
great chocolate to seriously consider a Roux pup. Thank you
Frank & Debbie for allowing me to carry on Roux's legacy!
Thanks,
Kevin Buckley

Yep, Pearl and Preacher both stole the
show! Preacher is a chunk now, a very blocky head and solid
foundation on that one.
They had a puppy stake with Pigeons. She wasn’t to sure about
the pigeons at first. I’ve been using teal and Dokken teal with
her so she wasn’t to sure but then she realized it was something
to retrieve and she just went bonkers for em. I would say she
was doing 30 to 40 yard retrieves by the time we got done.

Rowdy's doing real good. He's a cool
little dog. Great personality, loves to do the work. Drills,
yard, marks, makes no difference to him. I usually only train 2
or 3 days a week depending on what we're working on. We're in
swimby now but don't expect to be there much longer.Bill's
(Thompson) been after me to put him on his truck soon.

Bronco
is doing exceptionally well. I've been to two training
sessions with the Southwestern Pennsylvania Retriever Club,
the second one being yesterday. Bronco was doing marks
(bumper with a pheasant wing attached) at 40-50 feet, (over
the course of 6 hours I ran him 3 times for 9 marks).
Everyone was very impressed with him. They thought he was
beautiful and did a great job with the marks. He did several
through some light cover without hesitation. The most heard
comment from several guys was, "Bronco is way ahead of where
he should be, keep doing what you're doing". He is filling
out and is a gorgeous boy.

Just a little update on Zues he
graduated force fetching this week and a little note on the side
from the trainer about the our pups we are all so proud of.

You'll be happy to hear that your baby has just graduated Force
Fetching. Next week he starts full marking drills. Should be
ready for his first jr hunt test late July but we will see. I
Know your Breeder likes updates on how the pups are. You can
pass on how good Zues is doing and tell them they really did a
good job with their breeding for sure.

Hunter is doing great . Still training
him every day . And the more I train him the better he likes it
. What can I say we have a bond that is so close I believe he
knows what I'm thinking . I love this dog so much . And I know
he loves me .

I have 3 of these pups now to work with and
another coming when I get an opening. These pups are fun to
work with. All are showing lots if drive and marking ability.
They respond to different concepts very well. Ryder, the pup
you saw is still doing exceptional marks. Ryder earned his
HRCH at 14 months old.

Mossy Oak Kennels

About two years ago I started looking for a Labrador that
I would be able to run in AKC Field Trials. I came across an ad
for this good looking chocolate stud dog that I really liked the
looks of, and who also had a great pedigree. So I looked
through the upcoming breeding that Frank had lined up for Roux.
One female really stood out to me, and I really liked the way
the pedigree's came together, so I decided to purchase a male
puppy from that litter. Gator is everything I was looking for,
and more than I could have hoped for. Besides being a very
handsome boy he is also, very intelligent, tractable, great
marker, and an absolute team player.

Colby is doing
well....we are towards the end of FF because I've taken my time
and his. He is a
really good marker and has great focus at the line. Incredible
disposition and doesn't get rattled at anything....I used the
vacumm cleaner on him last night to clean up some loose
hairs...he just stood there.
Great OB and
loves water also.
