REQUIREMENTS

Prior to accepting the bitch we must receive the following: 

• AKC Registration Certificate

• OFA Certification

• CERF Certification or CERF Exam

• CNM Certification if available

• Pedigree, as many generations back as is available

• Non-refundable deposit and the transportation fee if applicable (see below)

• Signed and dated breeding contract

The following must be sent with the bitch:

• Health Certificate, with Letter of Acclimation, dated immediately before shipping (if 10 days elapse since exam at time of return, bitch would require second certificate at breeder's expense); unnecessary if driving

• Written evidence of current immunizations (Rabies, 5-way, Bordatella) 

• Feeding requirements (amount, time of day, dry or wet)

A word about progresterone testing:  Progesterone testing determines the optimum breeding time and helps to ensure maximum litter size. We highly recommend progesterone testing to ensure the breeding is done at the optimum time.  Progesterone tests should begin on the 5th day of the cycle and continue every other day until a level of 2.0 is achived. This may require two or three tests. The only way to identify this date in advance is with progesterone testing.  If you would like the bitch to be bred on a date different from the optimum, it is your responsibility to inform us of this prior to shipping her.   However, we believe that foregoing progesterone testing is a mistake that may result in smaller litters.

BREEDING METHODS AND FEES

Semen, frozen and chilled, is shipped by Gary Moore of Once Frozen, a canine reproduction specialist in Oklahoma City, Ok.  Fees for shipping are paid by the breeder directly to Once Frozen.  Gary can be contacted at (405) 682-289; email is oncefrozenk9@cox.net.  His website is www.oncefrozen.com .  Fees paid to Once Frozen are in addition to the breeding fees listed above.

ARRANGEMENTS

Roux is   trained and handled by Bayou Magic Retrievers in Ada, OK.  Field events are Roux's priorities, therefore his availability for natural breeding is very limited. 

Ship bitches to Oklahoma City if shipping is required.  Transportation fees apply.

We feed Eukanuba, but we will be glad to feed whatever food you want.  Please send enough food for a week if you want us to feed your usual food.

FEES

Stud Fee  

• The non-refundable deposit is required with the signed breeding contract prior to semen shipment.  The balance of the stud fee is due within 10 days of whelp.

• See table above for methods and fees.

• If the litter is smaller than 4 pups, the balance will be prorated at $250 per pup and due within 10 days of whelp.

Additional Fees for Natural Breedings

• Airport Pick-Up & Drop-Off to OKC.....................................$150. This covers two 4-hour round trips for us.   The airport fee must be paid with the deposit.

• Boarding...................................Free for 5 days, then $15 per day.

• Veterinary Fees......Veterinary fees for the bitch will be charged to the bitch owner.  A trip fee of $10 will be charged for each vet visit - no exceptions.

• Payment for boarding and veterinary fees are due immediately upon invoice receipt.

Additional Fees for Artificial Breedings
          Frozen and Chilled Semen Available

• AI Fees..... Fees depend on methods selected.  See table above.  Fees associated with insemination are the responsibility of the breeder and paid directly to the vet by the breeder.  WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT BREEDERS USE A VET THAT HAS A LONG TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESS WITH AI BREEDINGS.
